It is good practice to clean the walls and bottom of the pool frequently, using the appropriate cleaning kit.
Even if you use an automatic cleaner, if the pool is particularly dirty, it will still be necessary to clean it manually before using the appliance. In fact, if an automatic cleaner is inserted into an excessively dirty pool, it quickly loses its cleaning capacity due to the clogging of the filter bag.
Normally, the maintenance kit consists of an analysis kit for measuring the pH and chlorine values, a thermometer for measuring the temperature of the pool water (also important for determining the minimum daily operating time of the filtration system) and a series of products for manually cleaning the pool.
These products (a net, a brush and a vacuum broom) are all to be applied to the telescopic aluminum handle.
The net, applied to the telescopic handle, is used to remove the larger debris both on the surface of the water and on the bottom of the pool.
The brush, attached to the telescopic handle, is used to brush the walls and remove dirt from areas that are difficult to reach with the vacuum cleaner.
HOW TO USE THE MUD VACUUM BROOM
- Mount the head of the mud vacuum cleaner to the end of the aluminum telescopic handle.
- Push one end of the floating hose into the appropriate fitting located on the upper part of the mud vacuum cleaner. Insert the mud vacuum cleaner mounted on the aluminum telescopic handle at the lowest point of the pool and remove the internal air from the floating hose by placing the other end of the hose on an inlet nozzle. The water that comes out of the nozzle entering the hose will cause the air in it to escape from the mud vacuum cleaner located on the bottom of the pool. When you no longer see air bubbles coming out of the mud vacuum cleaner, it means that the hose is full of water and therefore you can proceed to connect the hose to the brush socket or to the suction of a skimmer.
- If the pool is equipped with more than one skimmer, it will be necessary to close, with the appropriate caps, all the suction holes of the same except the one where the end of the flexible hose will be inserted. This operation will guarantee the maximum possible suction from the only skimmer left open.
- Avoiding air from entering the flexible hose (for example by plugging it with the palm of a hand) insert the end of the same into the opening of the skimmer on the water side of the pool and then into the suction hole of the same located under the basket.
- Move the vacuum cleaner regularly and slowly, to avoid lifting the dirt, on the bottom and walls of the pool. Once cleaning is finished, disconnect the equipment and put it away.
Using the mud vacuum cleaner with direct discharge without passing through the filter
If the pool is very dirty and you want to expel the debris sucked up by the mud vacuum cleaner by sending it directly to the drain pipe without passing through the filter, we can carry out these operations: place the selector valve lever on the “DRAIN” position, during use of the mud vacuum cleaner. In this case, we must remember to open the valve on the drain pipe (if provided).
NOTE
Obviously, doing this operation will have a considerable water consumption depending on the time of use of the mud vacuum cleaner. It is necessary to check that the water level does not fall below that of the skimmers to avoid damage to the pump.
