A pH/Chlorine (ORP) dosing and control system for swimming pools is an automatic device designed to keep pool water balanced and safe by precisely regulating pH and disinfectant (usually chlorine) levels by monitoring the redox potential.
How it works
1. Continuous measurement:
The system is equipped with probes that constantly measure pH and the redox potential (ORP), which indicates the oxidizing capacity of the water, correlated with the amount of active disinfectant present.
2. Control unit:
A digital control unit receives data from the probes and compares it with the set values (e.g., ideal pH between 7.0 and 7.6). If the values are outside the range, the control unit automatically activates the dosing pumps.
3. Peristaltic dosing pumps:
These pumps inject the necessary chemicals into the filtration system: pH adjusters (acid or base) and disinfectants (liquid chlorine or active oxygen). Dosing can be proportional (based on deviation from the ideal value) or pulsed (on/off).
4. Installation and maintenance:
The systems are generally easy to install and compatible with most filtration systems. They require periodic maintenance of the probes (cleaning and calibration) and monitoring of chemical levels.
Main advantages:
- Complete automation: eliminates the need for frequent manual checks.
- Greater precision: maintains more stable water parameters.
- Chemical savings: optimized dosing and reduced waste.
- Improved comfort and safety: always clear, safe, and pleasant bathing water.
