FILTRATION (Filter)

It is used to filter the water that enters from above, passes through the sand and returns to the pool. In this position, the valves of the skimmers and the nozzles must always be open. The bottom valve (when provided) must remain closed so as not to remove the suction power of the skimmers that clean the surface. If the pool is left unattended for a long period, it will be necessary to keep the bottom valve open to prevent the pump from running dry if evaporation or some anomaly causes the pool level to drop below the level of the skimmers.

DRAIN (Drain or Waste)

During this operation, remember to open the valve of the drain pipe (if provided). The “Drain” position is normally used to empty the pool by opening the bottom valve (when provided) and closing the valves of the skimmers and the delivery nozzles, or to send the residue of the bottom to the drain after a treatment with the flocculant.

CLOSED (Winterize or closed)

The water does not circulate beyond the valve. This position is mainly used for maintenance.

BACKWASH (Backwash)

During this operation, remember to open the valve of the drain pipe (if provided). It is used to clean the filter bed. The water enters the filter from the bottom and after passing through the sand goes directly to the drain. The average duration of this operation is 3/5 minutes.

RECIRCULATION (WHIRLPOOL or Recirculate)

It is used to circulate the water without passing through the filter when it is necessary to mix the water with the chemical product. The water reaches the pump and returns to the pool without passing through the filter.

RINSE (Rinse)

This operation must always be carried out after the backwash for a duration of about 10 seconds. The water enters the filter from the top and after passing through the sand goes directly to the drain.

Once this operation is complete, remember to close the drain pipe valve (if applicable) and return the selector handle to the “Filtration” position.
