The pool enhances the home by creating a pleasant aesthetic effect in the garden. For this reason, in addition to keeping the water always pure and crystal clear, it is essential to also clean the pool and its accessories from deposits that can diminish its beauty and attraction.
Cleaning the filtration system
The filtration system allows you to retain the solid bodies present in the pool water and has no effect on bacteria and other germs.
The pool is equipped with three filters that must be cleaned periodically:
- Skimmer basket
- Pump filter basket (pre-filter)
- Sand filter (backwash)
Skimmer basket
This operation must be done every 2 / 3 days to remove all the coarser surface dirt that the pool circulation system has conveyed towards them.
To remove the basket, simply rotate it ¼ of a turn, using the appropriate handle, and lift it.
Cleaning the pump filter basket
Periodically, but less frequently, the pump filter basket should also be cleaned, especially after using the mud vacuum cleaner or an automatic cleaner that works in suction. The transparent cover still allows you to see when the pre-filter needs cleaning. The cleaning operation is carried out by unscrewing the transparent cover and acting in the same way as described above for the skimmer basket.
ATTENTION
Before unscrewing the pump filter cover, remember to close the skimmer valves, the foot valve (if provided) and the delivery nozzles to avoid flooding the technical room.
After cleaning the pump filter basket, screw the cover back on after lubricating the gasket. Once this operation is complete, reopen the valves of the filtration system.
NOTE
If the skimmer baskets and the pump filter or the filter itself are very dirty, the water intake in the pool loses power and the filtration system loses effectiveness, compromising its correct functioning.
Cleaning the sand filter
The sand filter is the most effective and reliable system for controlling the pool water. Its ease of use is one of the features that allows it to be used by anyone who is approaching the world of pool maintenance for the first time.
The 6-way valve is positioned above the container and manages all the functions: filtration, backwash, rinsing, recirculation, closed, drain. The 6-way valve selector handle is moved by pressing it downwards and rotating it to the desired position.
ATTENTION
All operations to move the selector handle must always be carried out with the engine off.
The sand inside the filter must be replaced every 3 years. If the water is calcareous, it is a good idea to use a descaler once a year at the beginning of the season. It is essential to build a drain for the backwash water.
